ABOUT THE PROPERTY:

Perched on the hillside of Kalkan, this 3 bedroomed holiday rental villa is characterized by its wide-open bird's eye views and offers accommodation 4-8 people. This spacious, comfortable house cries out for large fun house parties, with large open verandas, sun loungers on the pool terrace and a shaded eating area on the roof terrace with a barbecue, all of which overlook a generous sized infinity pool. Airhouse Villa is situated in an ideal location for all local amenities. Within only a few minutes drive from the village centre and beach it is particularly quiet and peaceful with panoramic views over three bays.

Taxis are readily available or the local buses frequently pass at the end of the road.

The pool is easily accessed from the verandah and enclosed by decorative railings, enabling a watchful eye to be kept on the children as they play.

(Airhouse has a twin Villa which shares the pool. They can be rented together for larger groups)

The Mediterranean planting is very beautiful, set with olive trees, fruit trees and many exotic flowers.

Similarly spectacular views are enjoyed by the two ground floor bedrooms which both open via French windows onto the main veranda. Outside steps lead down to the large sized 7m x 5m, disappearing edge swimming pool and pool terrace.

Both the double bedroom and the twin bedroom have en-suite facilities, one with spacious walk in shower and the other a bath with overhead shower (for children or inveterate bath takers!). The third bedroom is located upstairs with two full size bunk beds. All bedrooms have spacious storing and hanging facilities. Additionally there is one washroom upstairs that is accessible to all houseguests.

The main upstairs entrance opens into a spacious living area with fireplace, TV, DVD, CD, books, music and French windows opening from a comfortable sitting area onto an open veranda. The living area leads onto the spacious, well presented dining area with wide sliding glass doors opening onto the covered veranda looking over the sea. The dining area leads on to a spacious and well-appointed integrated kitchen. The twin sofas open into full size ¾ beds for additional sleeping arrangements.

Further stairs lead up to the ceramic tiled roof terrace with tiled pergola over the al fresco dining area giving amazing panoramic views over Kalkan bay, Patara Beach and Kapitas bay. The pergola on the spacious roof terrace provides for al fresco dining whilst you take in the stunning views and listen to the distant haunting sounds of the Imam calling the faithful to prayer echoing from the mosque in the far valley. This is a really special place to catch up with your sun tan. At night the roof terrace gives you all the romantic sunsets and skylines you desire and is certainly the place to watch the moon rising!

Fully equipped kitchen with washing machine. Washing lines, pegs and rails provided. Roof top lines for quick drying.

CLEANING INFORMATION:

Cleanng twice a week and linen change once a week.

Changeover days are Mondays. Full weeks only.

Towels and bedding provided except towels for beach.

Kalkan is a enchanting harbour village resting in the foothills of the Toros mountains and overlooking a beautiful bay. Its quaint, traditional, white-washed houses, shuttered windows and balconies garlanded with brilliant flowers that cascade to the streets below, make it the ultimate peaceful holiday village in the Mediterranean region of Turkey. Narrow winding streets lined with souvenir shops and small cafes and restaurants lead down to the charming marina. Many people have their favorite restaurants but our advice is to explore and try as many as possible as each restaurant has its own style and different choice of menus.

Quietly peaceful by day, Kalkan comes alive at night with plenty of shops, restaurants and small bars to add a change of pace to your day. The choice of restaurants from the harbour to those on the roof terraces are all good quality and you will have great difficulty in choosing a favorite eating place. There are also many cafe's and small eating places for family eating and you will find that all the restaurants are amazingly good value. You will also find several places to have a drink and listen to music. The local wines and beers are really excellent and very affordable, as are the groceries, vegetables, fruit and cigarettes. Seek out a bar on the harbour for a good place to sit and have a drink, watch the world go by, then if the mood takes you dance the night away until the new dawn slowly rises for another guaranteed day of sunshine. Everywhere you go in Kalkan you will find a friendly welcome making Kalkan the resort to have a relaxing family holiday.The weather in Kalkan is the equivalent climate of Southern California with sunshine almost guaranteed. A cool breeze called the "The Meltem" usually appears in the afternoon just when you need it.

The clean, white pebble beach stretches along the front and is excellent for safe family bathing andthe perfect place to catch up with your sun tan and snorkelling. The sea water temperature rarely drops below 16°C thus enabling swimmers to have an eight to nine month bathing season. The water is always crystal clear, warm and sparkling clean as no sewage enters the sea. The pure white stony bottom and crystal clear water gives truth to the name of the 'Turquoise Coast'. Local vendors walk along the beach selling pastries and soft drinks. We recommend the apple pastries. You can also walk to the nearby local bars for a refreshing freshly squeezed orange juice or a turkish coffee.

One of the many pleasures of holidaying in Kalkan is the wide choice of beautiful places to swim and bathe.You will probably discover your own favourite bathing spot in Kalkan or somewhere along the coast with Kapitas only 5km from Kalkan or Patara beach 12km which is one the finest unspoilt sandy beaches in Europe. Another option is a day at the beach clubs. These are platform beaches across the bay which are reached by frequent shuttle boat service from the marina. The platforms provide everything a holiday-maker can need or dream of, from a sophisticated tequila cocktail to beach mats and banana boats.

Kalkan has a small marina that is home to luxury yachts,gulets and deep-sea diving boats. You can hire a gulet for the day, stretch yourself out on a sun mattress as the gulet meanders lazily from beach to island to protected cove. You will swim in transparent turquoise waters, eat lunch on the boat and enjoy a friendly afternoon turkish tea, all for a modest charge.
Airhouse Villa is only a few minutes drive to the shops, village centre and beach passing through the alleys and shops of Kalkan.
