Le Guib is a newly converted self-contained gite as part of an old Breton farmhouse. Le Guib is a short easy walk to the local town of Ploneour Lanvern, where there is a good selection of bars and restaurants, as well as a large supermarket. A combination of both traditional and modern features help to make your stay relaxing and comfortable. The sea and glorious clean beaches are just about 5km away, and several other attractions are within short drives. The nearest city Quimper, which is the oldest in Brittany is about 20km.

ABOUT THE PROPERTY:

Le Guib is situated in an area known as Carrefour du pays Bigouden, on the Bay of Audierne. This is the 'crossroad' to some of the most beautiful parts of France and providing ample opportunity to walk the many miles of coastal paths, or indulge in water sports like surfing, sand yachting or windsurfing. Beaches are clean and patrolled for safety.

Brest airport about 1 hour. Roscoff Ferry port about 1½ hour. St Malo Ferry port about 2½ hours. Cherbourg Ferry port about 5½ hours. Lorient airport (AerArann) about 1 hour. TGV Quimper (Paris) about 4 hours.

Nearest town, Ploneour Lanvern 1km. Pont l'Abbe 5km. Nearest City, Quimper 16km. Benodet 10km. Concarneau 27km. Point de la Torche 6km.

GARDEN:

There is a lawned area to both sides of the property looking directly onto the gardens. A BBQ is provided, as well as an extending table and 4 chairs and an umbrella. Within the garden there is an area in front of a stone barn that is ideal for playing boule. We also provide various garden games and a net on the lawn at the rear of the barn for playing badminton. There is also a children’s swing and Tarzan rope.

PARKING:

Secure storage can be provided for bikes, surfboards etc. Covered parking and large parking area to the rear of the property.

LIVING/LOUNGE AREA:

Large lounge with raised dining area and overlooking garden. TV, DVD/MP3/CD player, radio cassette.

CLEANING INFORMATION:

The gite will be prepared for your arrival and is expected that it is left in the same condition. If you would like us to organise a cleaning service for you, then we are more than happy to at an extra charge.

CHANGEOVER NOTES:

Please do not arrive before 4pm on the agreed date. Departure is required by 10am. Changeover days can be organised to suit your travel arrangements.

LINEN NOTES:

A linen service and towels can be provided at a small extra charge and on request. All other items such as cleaning materials are inclusive.

LOCAL AMENITIES/ATTRACTIONS:

For sunny days we always recommend any of the excellent beaches. Quimper is the oldest city in Brittany and has an impressive cathedral, some excellent shopping and the famous H B Henriot pottery. Oceanopolis in Brest is a full day out with some superb attractions, as are several other local leisure parks. The area is ideal for walking, cycling or horse riding, and there is a riding school nearby. Many local markets selling everything under the sun, and the famous 'brocantes' and 'puces' where you might just find that elusive lost Renoir or Lautrec.

BOOKING NOTES:

A non-refundable deposit of 20% is required at the time of booking and confirmation. Full payment is required 4 weeks before the booked dates. On arrival a returnable security payment of 150 euros or equivalent in sterling is required. This cheque will be returned as soon as possible following departure and inspection. Payments only in cash or cheque, sterling or euros, made payable to Mrs J L Napier.
