ABOUT THE PROPERTY:
A beautiful barn conversion with both bedrooms ensuite. In river valley village encompassed by three chateaux. 5km from romanesque market town of Melle.

fridge, gas cooker, microwave, washing machine. Parquet flooring to all
rooms. In the dining area the original manger has been restored. Dining
table and chairs for 4 people, radio and c.d. player. Sofa and chairs
in lounge. Fireplace with wood burning stove and radiators to rooms for
the cooler months. Colour satellite television with d.v.d. player. Internet wi-fi. A selection of books, films and c.ds are provided.
The lovely ash staircase leads to a hallway with two large bedrooms.
Exposed stone and original old beams. You can almost pick figs from

The double bedroom has wrought iron double bed, (possibility of small bed for child) wardrobe and drawer
unit, ensuite facilities include hand basin, w.c. and shower system
with massage jets!
The twin room with two wrought iron single beds that can be arranged as
a double. Recessed area for hanging clothes and large chest of drawers.
Bathroom with hand basin, w.c. bath and shower attachment.
Hairdryer, iron and iron board. Linen and towels are provided. Please
bring your own pool towels. High chair, cot and baby bath on request.
Private garden where you will find garden furniture to eat out al
fresco plus sun loungers. A gaz barbeque is also provided. You can
almost guarantee eating outside for the majority of your holiday as we live in a region where on average we have over 2500 hours of sunshine per year!
In a separate utility room a tumble dryer can be used for a small
charge.
In the mature enclosed gardens of over one acre we can offer you a 7.5
metre swimming pool, reaching over 85 degrees in summer. A converted
barn is used as a games room with pool, darts, table tennis, and small
snooker table. Boules, croquet, skittles, ect for outside use.
Selection of adults and childrens bicycles are available so you can
explore our lovely village and countryside. Walks and cycle ride details are provided in the gite along with books and leaflets about our region with numerous suggested places to visit.
Situated near the orchard where you can eat plums, grapes, figs, apples!
BARBEQUE WITH WINE INCLUDED ON DAY OF ARRIVAL JUNE TO SEPTEMBER!
Paizay le Tort a charming village in a wooded valley. The river Berlande meandering through. Pleasant walks and cycle rides can be taken from our village. A roman church, tennis courts, obstacle course restaurant/bar with take away pizzas. Fresh bread delivered daily with meat and fish delivered once a week.
Melle a delightful Romanesque market town only 3 miles away. Oldest royal silver mines in Europe. Botanical walk around the town with thousands of shrubs and trees. Classical music events held annually. Jazz bar, cafes, restaurants. Market on Friday morning. Excellent horse riding stables.
Chef Boutonne home of the Javersay Chateau (above) with a lovely lake. Market on Saturday morning. Restaurants and bars.
Niort the town lies on the banks of the Sevre Niortaise river. Historical dungeon, covered food market, shops and restaurant within pedestrianised streets. Live music beside the river July and August. Golf course.
Cognac visit the houses of Hennessey and Otard on the banks of the Charente river or take the small train around the Remy Martin estate. Brilliant blues event held in July with well known artists.
Angouleme once the regions capital. Architectural and historic hilltop town surrounded by ramparts. Watch the classic car event racing around the town in September. Cartoon festival held in February.
Poitiers cobbled stone paths lead you from the beautiful park to the magnificent churches. Market on Saturday morning, splendid shops, bars and cafes and live music.
La Rochelle beautiful harbour, walks along the river and through the park. Magnificent aquarium. Free bike hire for two hours. Largest yachting marina on the Atlantic coast. Seafood, seafood, seafood!!
Marias Poitevin also known as the Venise verte. 600kms of canals and rivers. Pretty houses and villages through this major natural beauty spot. Labyrinth of canals. Hire a boat or bicycle.
Futuroscope magnificent theme park based on technology near Poitiers. A visual journey to different destinations!
Chataillion Plage close to La Rochelle on the Atlantic Coast. 2 miles of sandy beach. Quaint villas, fish restaurants and casino. Wind surfing and centre aquatic.
