Pear Tree Cottage is one of four stone cottages that have been restored to provide modern conveniences whilst retaining all the charm of a typical French farmhouse.
Leaving in lots of the original features, like granite walls and exposed oak beams.
A perfect place for all the family to unwind, either by the pool or under a tree with a good book and a glass of wine.
Although we are in a quiet location, we are only 5 mins away from the village centre with its bar-tabac-restaurant-shop. And only 10 mins from
Louvigne du Desert with its, shops, supermarkets.

ABOUT THE PROPERTY:

This cottage has lots of original features like an arched granite
doorway and huge exposed oak beams.
The open plan lounge/ kitchen /dining area is ideal for family entertainment.
The comfortable lounge area has a log burner and some granite walls.
The well equipped kitchen area has double doors that open onto a
covered veranda, this leads to the shared garden & pool area.
The 1st floor has a shower room and 4 bedrooms, 2 double rooms
one with an en-suite, a twin - bedded room and 1 room with bunk beds.
There is a separate patio area with garden furniture, sun canopy and a BBQ.

La Basse Rouerie is a traditional Breton farmhouse and Longere that dates back 600 years in parts.
It has two and a half acres of gardens with open views over undulating farmland.
There is a private patio area for all 4 cottages which include garden furniture, sun canopy and a BBQ.
Plus there is a communal patio area with a brick BBQ, the ideal place for parents to get to know one another, while the kids play. We have had many an enjoyable evening with a BBQ and a few drinks.

The above ground pool is made of teak to fit in with the surroundings in the orchard. It is heated and maintained at around 30-32 degrees. The pool is open from May - September.

The gardens are the ideal place to either relax by the pool, have a picnic under a tree, or just sit and read a good book while sipping a glass a wine.

There is a badminton net, swings, boules pit, swing ball, football net, and basketball net in the gardens, along with numerous games.
In the covered veranda area there is table soccer and a darts board.
The gardens are large and safe enough for children to play.

Just down the lane there is an 18 km Patrimoine walk through lovely countryside.

La Basse Rouerie is located in a small village called Mellé, which is situated on the Brittany/ Normandy
borders. Here you can spend days on the magnificent beaches known as the Emerald coast, visit walled towns or just walk through the lovely countryside, something for everyone.
Mellé is about an hours drive from the port of St Malo, this is also an excellent place to visit, with a walled town and miles of sandy beaches. Just along the coast there is Cancale the oyster capital of France with excellent seafood restaurants and Dinard with its palm tree lined coastline.
Also within an hours drive you have the large towns of Rennes, Dinan and Domfront all worth a visit. Mont Saint Michel the 2nd most visited place in France after the Eiffel Tower is only half an hour drive. Half an hour will also take you to the walled town of Fougeres with its château, St Hilaire a lively market town and Mortain known for its water falls.
Just under a two hour drive will take you to the D-Day Beaches and the Bayeaux Tapestry.
Mellé is also only 10 mins away from the American War Cemetery at St. James.
Nearby are water and floral parks, walking and cycle paths, trout fishing , horse riding, canoeing and kayaking and numerous places of interest to visit, something for everyone.

GARDEN:

We now have a 14ft trampoline with safety nets, which all the family enjoy.

Prices:

A £100 (145€) deposit is required to secure your booking. A Booking Form with Terms and Conditions is available on request.
The balance is due 8 weeks before arrival along with the £150(220€) security deposit.
A £150 (220€) security deposit is required per cottage, this will be refunded to you after you leave providing it has been left in a reasonable condition and there are no breakages.
If the cottage has not been left in a reasonable condition then £50 (75€) will be deducted to cover costs.
