ABOUT THE PROPERTY:

Mode d'Artiste is a spacious holiday home with 3 apartments. Prices quoted are for the ground or 2nd floor apartment, each of which have 1 bedroom (the ground floor has a king-sized bed and the 2nd floor a four-poster bed). The 1st floor has a double and twin room and is 30-60 Euros more, depending on the time of year.

Couiza holds many attractions for holiday makers or those looking for a medium term rental - it is easy to get around the area as there are both bus routes and train stations (it's also 34km from Carcassonne airport and 60km from Perpignan). There are 2 patisseries, 2 restaurants, a local Spar shop (mini-supermarket) and an excellent health food shop. A pharmacy, vet and health centre with both doctors and dentists. All these facilities are within a short walk of the holiday home.

All the holiday apartments are very spacious (approx. 90 m2), hung with original works of art, have a large main living area with music system and own computer with free Broadband (ADSL) Internet access. This makes it an ideal base in which to relax, find local attractions, locate French houses or keep in touch with clients or friends via email.

Each apartment is tastefully decorated in its own individual style and includes a kitchen / diner with washing machine, full oven and hob and fridge with freezer compartment. The kitchens also have a toaster, kettle, coffee percolator, etc. Each apartment has a comfortable sofa bed in the lounge too.

The apartments all have a separate bathroom and WC and use of the pretty south-facing terrace. They have double glazing and are designed in the French style, to stay as cool as possible in the summer and as warm as possible in the winter, with fans in each bedroom and lounge and electric heating included in the price.

Local attractions include Rennes-les-Bains, with a naturally heated thermal spa, the mysterious village of Rennes-le-Chateau, a beautiful lake and walks around Arques, Carcassonne old city, Cathare castles, many other walks in the area, plus river swimming.
