Coastguard Cottage, Saltburn-by-the-sea. Quiet location with sea & country views
A former Coastguard's cottage on the North Yorkshire Heritage coast. Rural location at the end of an unmade track but 1 1/2 miles from shops etc. Character features including an original Yorkshire range and stripped pine doors. Sleeps up to 4 in a double and a twin room. Garden with summerhouse. Dogs welcome.
The Cleveland Way is 50 yards from the door, a short walk down a winding path takes you to the beach where you can walk 8 miles on golden sands. There are dramatic cliffs and rockpools to explore. A pub serving food is at the foot of the cliff.
The unspoilt Victorian town Saltburn-by-the-sea is 1.5 miles away. The North York Moors, including Heartbeat Country and the picturesque fishing villages of staithes, Runswick Bay and Whitby are a short drive away.

Pets welcome by arrangement. Dogs must not be allowed upstairs or left unsupervised in the cottage.
N.B: ALL HOLIDAY MAKERS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE WHICH OCCURS.

Newly refurbished for 2007, retaining all it's character features.
PATIO:
Outside seating to the right of the French door, or in summerhouse in adjacent garden.
GARDEN:
Large, grassed garden with a summerhouse having a beach view.
PARKING:
Parking for 2 cars, one infront of the cottage, or on hardstanding to the side.
KITCHEN:
Kitchen/diner with fridge/freezer, microwave, built in oven & hob. Dining area in kitchen (see seperate notes).
There is an original cast iron range.
DINING AREA:
Dining table for 4, either on 2 seats and a window seat , however 2 folding chairs are provided if preferred.
LIVING/LOUNGE AREA:
The cottage is heated by the wood/multifuel burner. Fuel provided but you can bring more wood if you wish.
FULL instructions for use (even how to light a fire) provided with diagrams.
Once it gets going this heats the radiators throughout the cottage and the water. There is an electric immersion for water if the fire is not in use. It is a very efficient system.
BEDROOMS:
Double bedroom has an wrought iron bed drawers and 2 wardrobes. There is a cast iron fireplace for decoration only. The twin bedroom contains 2 3ft beds and has bedside drawers and hangers. This room has a sea view.
Access to the bathroom and twin bedroom is through the double bedroom. However both bedrooms are completely private and access to the bathroom is private from both rooms. So two couples could comfortably be accommodated if wanted.
CHANGEOVER NOTES:
Changeover day: Saturday. Arrival after 3pm, departure by 10am.
LINEN NOTES:
We supply all bed linen. Please bring your own towels and tea towels etc unless it should prove impractical due, for example to air travel.
PET NOTES:
Pets are welcome but are not allowed in the bedrooms please.
They must not be left unsupervised in the cottage.
BABY FACILITY:
Babies catered for - please ask.
ACTIVITY EQUIPMENT:
TV with Freeview, DVD, video, CD/radio. Some videos & DVD's, games and books.
BOOKING NOTES:

50% deposit is required at time of booking, full amount payable 8 weeks before holiday date. £50 damage bond payable, returned to you within 7 days of holiday end providing no damage has occurred.
BATHROOM/ENSUITE:
White bathroom suite with roll top bath and shower over.
NB: The bath side is quite high. IF you have mobility problems this may be a problem.
PLEASE NOTE:
MAP BELOW SHOWS WRONG LOCATION. THE COTTAGE IS NOT IN THE TOWN.
IT IS IN A ROW OF 7 ON THE OPPOSITE CLIFF TO THE TOWN.
