There are a lot of towns in the area, and the well-known and stylish resorts such as Chamonix and Val d’Isere make the French Alps a world famous destination for skiing all year round. Spreading over France, Italy and Switzerland, with the highest peaks being on the eastern edge, the French Alps were sculpted by glaciers with Mont Blanc being the highest point.
