Paris is the capital city of France best visited in Spring. That being said, in the winter Paris offers an array of cultural events and in August, many of the locals pack up and head for the beaches to the west and south.

If you are intending to visit around Bastille day, celebrated on 14 July each year, you would be well advised to book accommodation well in advance as this is a national holiday and Paris can get hectic around this event.
Located on the River Seine, in northern France, no other European city defines itself by its river in the same way as Paris. Dividing the two distict areas of the capital, the river seperates the Right Bank from the Left Bank. Nearly every building worthy of note in Paris, is either situated along the river or very close to it and the many museums here give the visitor the opportunity to see some of the greatest works of art ever created.
The Latin Quarter Quayside is on the left bank of the Seine. Acquiring its name from early Latin speaking students, it has been very much associated with learning institutes since the Middle Ages.
Well equipped in the area of public transport, the easiest way to get around Paris is by the metro which runs daily from 5:30am-12:30am.
