Lying at the south-eastern end of the Circumvesuviana rail line and set on a spectacular headland, Sorrento has long since fascinated tourists and visitors and over the years has become one of the most well-known international tourist sights.

Easily reached from Naples and Pompeii, Sorrento offers some breathtaking views and landscapes across the Bay of Naples to Capri and Ischia. The Amalfi Coastline, running south from Sorrento to the Bay of Salerno, is probably the most spectacular coastline in the world.

Sorrento also offers a wonderful climate, a plentiful supply of quality hotels and delicious local wines. The streets of Sorrento are planted with orange and lemon trees, and although there is a tendency for it to be very busy in the summer months, there are many places of unspoilt beauty here and a warm welcome awaits you.
Most certainly one of Italy's favourite holiday destinations, Sorrento is indeed a very pretty little city - the old town is full of character with a vast selection of restaurants to suit all tastes (Sorrento area is most famed for its spaghetti dishes), and budgets. For the shoppers, the main street is lined with elegant boutiques.
