Nesso

An old centre with picturesque groups of antique, quaint houses spread along the hilly slopes and along the shore of the lake, Nesso is conveniently located for trips to Bellagio, Milan, Lago Maggiore, Lago d'Garda and Lugano and Switzerland is only 55 km away.


The town is dotted with waterfalls. In the village centre the Tuf and Nose streams join and form the waterfall that plunges spectacularly into a gorge which can be seen from the road or from the lake, by passing under an old Roman bridge. Nearby are the ruins of an ancient castle - The Pian di Nesso (Plain of Nesso) which sits at a height of about 900 m in a scenic mountain locality and is on the way to Monte Palanzone and Monte San Primo.
The picturesque village has a couple of bars, and a well-known local restaurant the Tre Rose, with a scenic dining terrace set high above the lake, affording spectacular views of the lake below.
