Lucca is a city in Tuscany, northern central Italy, which became a colony of ancient Rome in 180 BC. Located only 30 minutes from Pisa, Lucca is a wonderful, relatively unspoilt small town surrounded by well-preserved ancient town walls.

One of Italy's finest medieval treasures, Lucca is one of the quieter Italian holiday destinations at the other end of the scale to that of Florence and Rome that attract millions of tourists every year. Reminiscent of Venice (without the water!), Lucca is ‘real Italy’ with very few tourist and souvenir shops but plenty of genuine Italian culture and tradition.
