Lying about fifteen kilometres south of Perugia, Torgiano sits on an elliptical hilltop above the confluence of the Tiber and Chiąscio, overlooking the two rivers' broad valleys below.

Torgiano is a quaint little medieval town known for its wine production. The Museum of Wine makes an interesting visit as it contains a precious collection of storical documents relating to the art of wine-growing and wine-making, and artistic, folkloristic and bibliografic documentation on the subject. All manner of pitchers, jugs, baskets, tools, wine presses, maps, drawings and paintings tell the history of wine.
