Located at the quiet end of the Costa Del Sol, Estepona is one of the few coastal towns that has succeeded in maintaining its charm by controlling its development carefully.
Estepona
With a definite Spanish atmosphere, the oldish town centre around leafy, traffic-free Plaza Las Flores is quite a pleasant place to sit with a coffee and watch the world go by.
A sizeable fishing fleet shares the port beyond the lighthouse at the western end of town with a large marina which is a great place to stroll around, admire the boats or sit in one of the many bars and soak up the atmosphere.
El Cristo beach which is near the marina, is perfect for children being situated in a delightful sheltered cove with lots of water sport activities on offer.
Despite being relatively undeveloped compared with its neighbouring towns, Estepona has all the tourist facilities, including hotels, restaurants, leisure and cultural activities, and shops. The market is on a Wednesday and offers a good choice of local produce. There is a craft market every Sunday morning offering some unusual and interesting items.
Other family attractions include a small water and theme park called Prado World with water slides, mini golf, roller-skating and other kids’ activities
