Situated close to the shoulder of Saharan Africa, they are the nearest place to Northern Europe with a real hope of winter sun. The south of Tenerife has a different microclimate from the north which is generally much hotter and drier.

On the other hand, there are theme parks for the children or a trip to Eagle Park where magnificent eagles, vultures and condor swoop over your head.
