About the hotel

Among the many unique features of the hotel, guests will find that each of its 27 rooms are different. From the four-poster bridal suite to family rooms, all are individual in character and shape due to the villa's architecture. Furnished to a high standard, every room is fully en suite with trouser press, television, telephone, tea and coffee making facilities and most have views of the hotel's spacious gardens. Along with family rooms we have a room with wheelchair and passenger lift access close by.

The recent addition of Complimentary Wireless Broadband in all of our bedrooms and throughout the whole hotel means that all guests can keep in touch with their business and friends at all times.


Our award winning Clarkes restaurant is open from 7pm and serves light meals through to an excellent selection of a la carte dinners .

Room service menus are displayed in each room.


Check in time is from 2.00pm onwards and guests are kindly requested to vacate their room by 10.30am.

Restaurant Notes

Residents and non-residents are invited to dine in the elegance and comfort of our newly refurbished Clarkes restaurant.

All of our dishes are prepared from the finest local produce by our Head Chef Julie Carey and her dedicated team. Our extensive a la carte menu (which changes monthly) is on offer to both residential and dinner party guests.

Our friendly, helpful and personal service combine with our superb range of food and wine to provide the kind of ambience in which you cannot help but relax, savour your meal and enjoy yourself.

Conference Facility Notes

The Glen-yr-Afon House hotel has been specialising in conferences for over 33 years, and is well established as one of South Wales' foremost privately owned venues for Corporate Meetings.

The Hotel itself has various conference rooms, ranging in capacity from the Octagonal Library, seating 20 delegates, up to the Victorian Function Suite for larger presentations. All are serviced by Syndicate Rooms that can be made available for those meetings that include a workshop format (prices available upon request).

The recent addition of Complimentary Wireless Broadband in the hotel means that delegates can send / receive e-mails and information whenever necessary throughout the day.

At the Glen-yr-Afon we are reluctant to give you 'set' menus or 'set' seating. We believe that your wedding reception should be as individual as you are.

From the moment the bride steps from her carriage our neatly uniformed staff are in attendance to ensure her day runs smoothly.
