Enjoy some time away from it all in the beatiful unspoilt mountains of Tuscany. House is on a mountain road yet only 5 minutes from the E45 motorway. Looks onto the oak, beech, chestnut, and piune forests of the Monte Nero natural park and is on or near a number of stunning walking, riding and biking routes through the Tuscan hills to La Verna (where St Francis received the stigmata) and the borders with Emilia Romagna and Umbria.

One of the things we love about the house is being able to wander along the mountain tracks surrounded by amazing scenery and flora and looking out for deer (red deer and fallow deer), wild boar and eagles. We have two Cannondale mountain bikes at the house which are available for hire and a whole pile of walking and biking maps. There is some great waymarked mountain biking in the local hills and forests and the house is on a waymarked CAI trail.

The house is in the Valtiberina (the high valley of the Tiber), has a weekend Pizzeria within 5 minutes walk and another restaurant and small shop within 5 minutes drive so is ideal for those who want great views, peace and quiet (and great starry nights!) but don't want to be anywhere too remote. The nearest towns to the house are Pieve Santo Stefano (8 mins) and Sansepolcro (15 mins) and the house is within 30 minutes of many of the delights of this area of Tuscany - Anghiari, Monterchi (and the Madonna del Parto), Caprese Michelengelo, La Verna etc. We are only 45 mins from Arezzo, 1 1/2 hours from Florence (longer if you take the stunning drive through the hills which is highly recommended) and have the advantage of being an hour from the beach resorts of Rimini and Ravenna. Nearest aiports are Forli (45 mins), Rimini (1 hour), Florence (1 hours 30 mins), Pisa (2 hours), Rome (2 hours 30 mins).
