About the property
Attractive welcoming modern 4-bedroom house, situated in a residential area, with sea views from it's 2 terraces. It is in close proximity to the beach and adjacent Puerto de Mazarron, whilst going along the coast takes you to Isla Plana and La Azohia. There is a 5 to 10-minute walk to the local beach, adjoining the sandy beach of Puerto de Mazarron, harbour and marina. The Puerto is within a 20-minute walk or 5-minute drive. It has it's own private pool approx 7x3m, Jacuzzi, and built-in Barbeque. There are 2 terraces, including one to the master bedroom. Both sea and inland views are available from the house. It benefits from Central Heating for the cooler off-season months. The 3 upper bedrooms all have ceiling fans and built-in wardrobes.
A car is strongly recommended.

We really enjoyed our stay at Casa Craven, the house was perfect and the area was lovely and quiet. It was nice to be in a Spanish town that was not too commercial. The kids had a great time, enjoyed the pool, Jacuzzi and the beach.

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, your home is extremely well equipped and a very comfortable base. We ate at the place you recommended to us on the front of the harbour ( Cafe Bocateria) and we had a take away paella one night from the bar at the end of the road. We also tried lots of other places to eat and had a few barbeques. Everything represented excellent value for money and the local people were very friendly.
I can honestly say we didn't find there was anything missing from our stay, Casa Craven does represent excellent value for money. The pool and jacuzzi were well cleaned and maintained, we found some lovely beaches and liked the fact that it is still quite Spanish. I will certainly recommend it to others."

Pool Notes
The 7m x3m private swimming pool is un-heated. It is shaded in the late afternoon. Jacuzzi capable of accommodating up to 6 people. Outdoor walled private shower.
Please use the shower before using the pool or Jacuzzi to remove sun lotions, as lotions affect the filtration systems.
Patio Notes
Fully tiled patio areas, allowing space for up to 8 sun-loungers. Private swimming pool and Jacuzzi. Permanent barbeque. Ample room for outdoor dining, comprising 2 tables each comfortably seating up to 6 people, including a shaded area.

Ample roadside parking space.
Kitchen Notes
Fully fitted kitchen, built-in cooker, & hob, fridge-freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, toaster, & microwave.
We have provided a couple of UK plug adapters and trailing extension sockets - to make it easier to charge up cameras, mobiles, camcorders etc.
Utility Area Notes
Within the fully equipped kitchen, are a washing machine and dishwasher, both built-in. On the upper terrace is a clothes drier attached to the wall, extended when in use, which folds back to the wall.
Dining Area Notes
Indoor dining table for 6 people, which can be expanded, plus a children's chair adapter for a baby.
Outdoor dining comprises 2 wooden dining tables, each comfortably seating 6 people (cushioned seats). Tables can also be placed under the terrace for shaded dining.
Living/Lounge Area Notes
Large lounge/dining room with 4 settees plus dining area for 6 people. Patio doors to ground-floor terrace, pool, Jacuzzi & barbeque. The dining table may be extended, and in it's normal size easily accommodates 6 persons. Satellite TV (inc Free-to-Air Digital UK & European channels), CD/DVD player, & Mini HI-Fi. Several DVD films provided.
Bedroom Notes
We have 4 bedrooms. Upstairs are 3 bedrooms, Master with it's own terrace providing sea-views from the room itself and terrace, en-suite bathroom and double bed. 2 additional rooms each with 2 single beds, which can easily be put together to make doubles.
All upper bedrooms have built-in wardrobes, and ceiling fans.
The downstairs bed-room has a pair of bunk beds, plus a permanent travel-cot, and wardrobe.

Our home is fully cleaned before you arrive. All linen is changed.

MEET AND GREET SERVICE.
You will be met personally upon your arrival at our home, by Debbie, who looks after it in our absence. Debbie will be on hand to meet you at our house, show you around and tell you some more local details about Puerto de Mazarron. Very importantly for your reassurance, you will be able to contact her whilst you are our guests, in case you need any advice, information or have any problems.
ARRIVAL & DEPARTURE TIMES are entirely flexible, and we’ll make sure that everything is ready for you
Linen Notes
All linen is provided, and is changed before guests arrive, with replacements if necessary. You may want to bring larger beach-towels.
Pet Notes
Unfortunately we don't normally allow pets.
Baby Facilities Notes
A permanent travel-cot is provided, together with an adapter to enable a baby to be fed almost as if in a high chair. We also provide a child's push-chair.
Local Amenities & Attractions
The Costa Calida (Warm Coast), is on the south-east Iberian coast, between the larger more developed Costa's Blanca and Del Sol. it has 250Km of beaches, beautiful countryside, several mountain area including National Parks, which, combine to provide a wonderful year-round holiday destination. There are over 300 days of sunshine a year, with temperatures averaging 32C degrees in summer and 18C degrees in winter. The warm sea temperature rarely falls below 16C degrees.
In some parts, the mountains go right down to the sea, providing breathtaking panoramas but also forming small, often sandy and secluded coves.
There are numerous beaches, some shingle, some rocky but many are sandy including the immense beaches near the port, Bahía and Bolnuevo.
The sea is usually around 5º warmer due to the 'micro climate' that Mazarrón enjoys. There are two reasons for this. One is, the mountain ranges, which surround us and secondly, the cooler water currents, which enter the Mediterranean from the Atlantic are deflected away from our coastline, leaving the water temperature unaffected and actually permitting diving all year round. The water is usually clear and the depth of visibility in many places is often around 25 - 30 metres.
Rocky outcrops provide incredible underwater scenery and apart from diving, snorkelling is extremely popular as well.
The area is less developed than some areas of Spain and therefore retains more elements of the traditional Spanish way of life.
It is an area steeped in history. The capital city of the region, Murcia, was founded in AD841.
Mazarron, with it's nearby Puerto de Mazarron, is a traditional Spanish town which retains a Spanish flavour and heritage. Whilst there are plentiful and varied restaurants, bars and cafes, particularly in the Puerto, it is not somewhere for someone looking for a hectic nightlife. It attracts large numbers of Spaniards during the high summer for their holidays, who prefer the area to the more widely known areas of Spain.
Puerto de Mazarron, is a year-round fishing port, and has a modern marina, completed in 2008. It’s completion was delayed by the discovery of Roman artefacts. Local dining places offer fresh locally caught fish. It is also well served by shops, and like other local towns is well endowed with shoe shops, as my wife will testify. Whilst there are small supermarkets in the Puerto, such as Arbol, larger ones are to be found on the edge of the Puerto on the main road leading to Mazarron.
Markets are plentiful and frequent. There are market-days in Mazarron, together with those in neighbouring Totana and Lorca.
Food Shopping
Within the Puerto, the El Arbol supermarket can cater for most basic needs, along with the fresh produce covered market, Plaza de Abastos, or the local Sunday market.
You’ll now find 3 new larger supermarkets at the entry to the Puerto from the main road leading from Mazarron. These are just over 5 minute's drive from our home:
"Upper" open 7 days pw, 9am to 9pm, and 9am to 2pm Sundays.
"Mercadonna" & "Lidl" open 6 days pw, normally 9am to 9pm. “Lidl” often opens on Sundays as well during the summer.
"El Arbol" in the Puerto also opens 7 days pw, typically 9am to 9pm except on Sundays 9am to 2pm.
Smaller "Dia" supermarkets are typically open 7 days pw, but normally shut for siesta and normally close at 2pm on Sundays.
Cartagena, has 2 large hypermarkets, "Eroski" and "Carrefour". Typically open 6 days pw, and frequently (irregularly) open on Sundays.
Please take note that Bank Holidays are far more frequent than in the UK, and supermarkets will often be closed as well, particularly if the holiday is religious.
Cartagena, about a 30-minute drive away, is another historic(dating back to the Romans) town and old naval base. It combines, history and architecture with lovely waterfront promenades, and excellent shopping facilities catering for all tastes and budgets. It has a great number of restaurants, many of which are traditional Spanish, but also caters for all tastes and cuisines. . Large supermarkets, such as Eroski and Carrefour, are to be found in Cartagena.
Spain is rightly renowned for it's agriculture, fruit, leather and shoes.
There are numerous small villages, which one can find and explore, but Totana and Lorca are especially interesting, benefiting from history (dating back to the Romans), local cuisines, shops and markets. . A lesser known fact is that Spain still has a thriving traditional children’s industry, and many of these dedicated shops offer a beautiful alternative to the modern trend to dress children as miniature teenagers.

Booking Notes
Prices shown are for the property per week in UK Pounds.
If your stay is not exactly 1 or 2 weeks, prices will be adjusted accordingly.
Changeover days are flexible, as are arrival & departure times, to accommodate flight times
Bookings can be reserved by phone or email, and then confirmed once the deposit of 10% is received. The balance is due 6 weeks prior to arrival. An additional security deposit of £100 is required together with the balance. This will be refunded within 7 days of departure from the villa, after property has been checked. Accidents easily happen and if so, a like for like replacement would be appreciated.
Cancellation up to 12 weeks prior to the start date of the holiday will incur loss of 50% of the deposit. Between 12 weeks and 6 weeks prior, 25% of the full payment due. Cancellation within 6 weeks of the holiday will incur a cost of 50% of the full payment due.
