The Akyaka Turkish holiday rental property is situated on the south west coast of Turkey between the renowned holiday resorts of Marmaris and Mugla ( Marmaris being just 40 minutes drive away) in “a romantic Gokova bay in the Mediterranean sea ” called Akyaka where the beaches are sandy and the sea is turquoise in colour Gullet cruise yachts anchor around the bays of Akyaka because of its idyllic and magnificent coastline, small local fishing boats can be seen in the local harbour, with the local fishermen tending to their nets.
Description of Location
Akyaka, is a highly conservation area there are no high-rise hotels - any construction has adhered strictly to the traditional architectural Mugla style of the region. Numerous wooden balconies, intricately arranged pan-tiled roofs and delicately carved fretwork shutters give the houses that tumble down the hillside towards the beach their distinctive and romantic appeal.
This Mediterranean coast location is ideal to visit the many famous historical, cultural and wonderful tourist attractions, and offers a holiday with something for everyone, nature lovers, sun worshipers, thermal baths and springs, photographers, sports enthusiasts, yachtspersons and budding archaeologists! Akyaka is surrounded by forestry commission land on one side and by a conservation area on the other, thus offering superb opportunities for exploring.

The village of Akyaka is very suitable for families with children because of the gently shelving sandy beaches with shallow crystal clear waters, which remains at knee depth up to 30 metres from the beach making it safe for young children and non-swimmers.

Pool Notes
Please note Topless bathing in and around the pools is not allowed, only on the local beaches.
The two pools are looked after to a high standard of hygiene by the resident Supervisor These pools are normally open from the end of May until mid September. The depth of these pools are not children friendly, so please ensure that your children are wearing proper safety ware, and are supervised at all times.
The local beach is very children friendly as the beach gently slopes out into the sea.
Cleaning Notes
The villa is cleaned weekly please make sure you ask the managembt team for the day and time of cleaning.
Linen Notes
All towels and bed-linen are changed weekly.Please ask the local management team for the day of change and times.
Baby Facilities Notes
The villa does not provide cots or high chairs, but these can be hired at a very low cost per week from our management office who looks after our villa.
Local Amenities & Attractions
Dramatic mountains rising steeply behind, a gulf of turquoise blue waters stretching out within Gokova Bay and nestled between the characteristic red-roofed, white-washed houses with ornate pine-timbered eaves and balconies strewn with brilliant pink bougainvillea this is Akyaka.
There is an excellent choice of restaurants ranging from specialist kebab makers and family run restaurants. Just a 10 minutes walk away are Akyaka’s famous fish restaurants, which are alongside the small Kadýn Azmak [woman river]. These are slightly more sophisticated riverside restaurants where fresh water trout is offered alongside a selection of delicious bream, bass and mullet.
For the more adventurous, our local Management team offer a range of excellent excursions, and offer free advice on places to visit if you are exploring by car.
There is a good mini-bus service in the area with buses to the nearby towns of Mugla and Marmaris/Icmeler. Approx. 40 minutes drive
The small harbour has many boats which run daily bay hoping trips from as little as £8.00 per person including lunch!
Booking Notes
The rental fee quoted on the availability chart is for up to 4 guests, for every guest afterwards the fees are May-October £35 per week per extra guest, inluding children from 1 years old.
This pricing offers a fair price for smaller parties.
