About the property
This charming house is in the heart of Capendu, a village in the Minervois (17 kms east of Carcassonne, 35 kms west of Narbonne) with good road and rail links.
La Maison Verte is in the heart of the village & captures the vitality of village life in this wine-producing region.
We have sympathetically renovated the house to combine its character with modern convenience, though there is no telephone or internet access (unless for long-term lets). Please note that French people were shorter 200 years ago than their present day counterparts, so the ceilings are low in some rooms and on the stairs. Sadly, we cannot accommodate pets or smokers within the house.
The house includes: 2 double bedrooms - 1 ensuite, (Z-bed available to make one into a twin bedded room). Cot & baby/toddler package available to hire. Bed linen provided (pillow, sheet & duvet with cover). Lounge on the 2nd floor leading to the terrace, dining room, kitchen, 2 shower rooms & 1 separate toilet. Kitchen, dining room, lounge & additional ground floor shower room. Second floor terrace complete with BBQ and outdoor furniture. Many original features, including tiled floors and beamed ceilings.
Parking Notes
Parking available in front of the house or close by in the public car park.
Changeover Notes
Normal changeover Saturday.
During low season this is flexible.
Baby Facilities Notes
Baby/Toddler package available to hire. Includes cot (with linen), highchair, pushchair.
Booking Notes
Bookings run from 4.00pm on the arrival day to 10.00am on the departure day (unless otherwise arranged) and should be confirmed in writing with a non-refundable deposit of 20% before the reservation is finally accepted. The balance and security deposit (see below) must be paid 8 weeks prior to the commencement of the holiday date.
The security deposit of £150 (paid with the balance of the rental) will be returned by post after your departure, less any damage, loss, breakages or cleaning costs incurred.
Bathroom/Ensuite Notes
2 double bedrooms. One is ensuite with a double bed. The 2nd bedroom has a king-size bed.
